what type of printer does VVPAT use?

I hear it uses thermal printer. Can anyone re-check and post links?

How many days can thermal printer print last before it say 50% of black pixels fade away?

I see articles that say anywhere from 5 days to 20 days if print is open and exposed to air (and less if exposed to sun)

Can anyone give more accurate information?

Now elections are often held in 4 to 6 phases. eg in Loksabha may-2014, first polling date was 6-apr-2014 follwoed by some 6 polling dates and last polling date being 14-may-2014. And counting was held in 16-may-2014

So in such cases, what % of VVPAT would not have faded?
