The most basic problem with FDI --- repatriation i.e. FDI is investment with CONDITIONS and it is NOT unconditional investment
.
Consider two situation (1) Say an investor from Mumbai comes and wants to invest in Ahmedabad, then should people in Ahmedabad oppose? (2) Say an investor from USA comes and wants to invest in India, Then should people in India oppose?
.
Or the question can come as ---- Why should anyone oppose foreign investor? After all, he is an investor., and he is the one who will be facing the risks
.
Let me re-state first question. Say an investor from Mumbai comes and wants to invest in Ahmedabad, then should people in Ahmedabad oppose? NO. People in Ahmedabad can only gain and have NOTHING to lose. But lets say investor puts a conditions before people of Gujarat that "he will invest 1000 kg of gold , and people of ahmedabad will have to give him gold equivalent for profits he makes !!". The should people of Ahmedabad accept his conditions? Now there a catch -- what if people in Ahmedabad dont have gold to repay his profits? Then they will end up selling all their land, rivers etc etc.
.
FDI is not just investment --- but it comes WITH CONDITIONS ON nation in which investments are made. And the most damage causing condition is that GoI will have to get dollars to investor for the profits he makes. And GoI has to get dollars anyhow. And what if nation or Govt doesnt have dollars to repay at that time? Then nation will have practically no option but to sell away all its forests, mineral mines, rivers, ponds, plots, monopoly like railways, airports, roads etc etc. "Repatriation" i.e. commitment to give back dollars is a MUST condition in almost all FDI deals. Now there is no international law that FDI must have repatriation clauses. But almost all FDI deals have this written explicitly or implicitly.
.
Other damaging clauses FDI may have is tax exemption. eg FDI or FII from Mauritius is exempt from capital gains. Next FDI in railways is worst --- the Japense will ask and get monopoly over tracks they make , i.e. no Indian company will be allowed to put similar tracks for next several years !! Each FDI needs to be studied separately. But a common theme on all FDI is that it it binds nation and govt with condition of repatriation. FDI should be renamed as 'Investment with reparation condition".
.
Now apex leaders of BJP-Congress-RSS-AAP do NOT give this information to activists and voters, because they all heavily depend on mediamen who are all FDI funded. AAP is 100% a creation of FDI-paid-media. Congress may have had a good-bad past, but since 1991, Congress-apex has been MNC-puppet. And BJP is too becoming more and more dependent on FDI-paid-mediamen. And so their leaders ont talk about repatriation conditions inherent in FDI and damage it can cause.
.
So solution I propose is that we should inform fellow activists and citizens as much as possible about this repatriation condition which comes with FDI. More the number of people who know this condition, more difficult it will become to for Sonia-NaMo-AK etc to pass this poison pill of FDI to voters.
.
And finally long term solution is --- we need to improve our general manufacturing because thats the only way we can improve weapon manufacturing. Otherwise, we cant stop coming armies --- be Chinese or American. We can stop FDI by legislations, but we cant stop armies by legislations. And to stop invading armies, we need weapons --- again, weapons which are 100% made in India and made by India. Not some FDI. For that, we need to reduce inefficiencies of our factory owners. And for that we need law-drafts such as Jury System, wealth tax, TCP, Right to recall, etc etc . So please inform fellow citizens about these drafts, and also inform that Congress-BJP-AAP etc are anti-Jury, anti-wealth-tax,. pro-VAT, pro-GST, pro-Service-tax, anti-Inheritance-tax, anti-RTR etc. Informing voters and activists about Congress-BJP-AAP is necessary so that they dont end up wasting their time,
