This may seem like a small talk. But it is not. Till now, tall leaders with media backing would mutter any nonsense on proposed laws and walk away. And activists had no clue on law , constitution and simply hear like cattle. But now an activist has OPENLY questioned the leader about DRAFT. The leader tried too fool by saying it "we will give draft when we come in Parliament" And activists shot back with TWO very valid arguments
1. You can surely give draft TODAY !!
2. RTR-Delhi-Mayor is state subject and you dont need to be in Parliament for that !!!
Well, folks, as trivial as it may seem, this was unthinkable 15 years back and even 2 year back. When I started RTR-campaign in oct-1998, the activists including those who had worked as volunteers for decades knew nothing about law. Their leaders NEVER told them one line of law. The leaders ONLY asked them to shout slogans, collect donations, wear caps etc. I never worked as "leader" but only worked as a senior. The FIRST thing I did was show the DRAFTS of proposed changes and explained activists how DRAFT was legally valid and constitutional. And next, I informed them about how fake people like AK, Prashant give gol gol answers on legal issue and scare activists, and how to rebut them. It should to be hours and hours per activist. Finally, we have some 300-400 activists across India who can expose leaders' likes in front of public in a short span of few minutes !! And this video is a proof.
So folks, pls cultivate habit of studying DRAFTS of the proposed law. More you study the DRAFTS it will become easier and easier for you to deal with people like Prashant Bhushans.
