Its impossible for evm vvpat programmers to put malacious code in evm vvpat. But its possible for bank employees to take out real notes and put fake currency notes !!!

Zynoro:

A shocking case has been reported from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where around ₹7.4 crore of genuine cash was allegedly replaced with fake notes inside a Punjab National Bank (PNB) currency chest.
The problem was first noticed when the RBI found a shortage of ₹4.36 lakh in cash sent by the bank.
A detailed audit of the currency chest then reportedly found a large amount of fake/low-quality currency notes.
Police have registered an FIR and formed an SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate.
Some PNB officials and a housekeeper have been named in connection with the case.
Investigators are checking CCTV footage, bank records and audit documents to find out how the genuine money was removed and fake notes were placed inside the vault.
The exact amount of fake currency is still being verified, as the investigation is ongoing.
In simple words: A small cash shortage led to the discovery of a much bigger suspected fraud, involving crores of rupees inside a bank's secure cash vault. The people responsible and the exact method used are still being investigated.
