The policy first said that airport land cannot be used for non-aero purposes. So private companies got airport land lease for cheap. Now SCjs say that airport land can be used for non-areo purposes !!! So the leaseholders will make windfall profits for low lease !!

The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the benefits of a liberalised land development policy should also be given to existing developers of airports. The directive comes as a relief to the GMR group-led Delhi International Airport and the GVK-led Mumbai International Airport.
