Modi wave in UP --- Shri Modiji retained the voters of may-2014 loksabha election. And added a only few more voters, but not many more.

UP Loksabha elections may-2014
no of voters in UP = 1388 lakhs
voters voted = 811 lakhs
votes BJP got = 343 lakhs
votes BSP got = 159 lakhs
votes Cong got = 61 lakhs
votes SP got = 180 lakhs

UP Assembly elections feb-2017
no of voters = 1405 lakhs
voters voted = 858 lakhs
votes BJP got = 359 lakhs
votes BSP got = 193 lakhs
votes Cong got = 54 lakhs
votes SP got = 189 lakhs

So number of votes of BJP did increase by 359 - 343 = 16 lakhs = about 4% more voters than in may-2014

So yes, there was net addition of voters. But all in all, all it means is that BJP has only retained its voters, and has added only a few more, not many more.

Essentially, UP is facing serious problem of Islamic terrorism in form of local gangsters. Cong / SP / BSP have joined these gangsters and so hapless voters see BJP as solution. So they keep voting for BJP.

But activists will soon face a rude shock -- only thing BJP will do is handover everything to Missionaries and USUK-elitemen i.e. MNC-owners..

BJP could save its votebank because RSS-workers have ensured that activists across UP remain busy with social work and activists do NOT get time to form a real or fake new political electoral alternative, And so hapless voters have no way except BJP to go. The numbers dont show any real progress otherwise. Because if there was real progress, then TOTAL voter count of BJP in 3 years should have gone by from 343 lakhs to much much more, not just 359 lakhs.
