Whether a civilization / nation will survive or die depends SOLELY on whether its activists can work to promote law-drafts that promote engineering etc. Grand think and grand strategies are mere phrases.

War or movie-making , engineering / craftsmenship always plays key role. The frontsmen, be leaders or actors or grand strategists matter far far less than raw engineering and craftsmenship behind them. Thats why, Chengex Khan , though himself an illiterate, leaned that he should never kill Engineers.
