Activism, FBCPBA and "zero maintenance capital" i.e. work which can keep giving returns , even when no extra work is done
.
An activist can work for say 4 hours a week for a few months or years, and then may need to focus on career, business, legal problems, family problems etc. During this time, he may be almost zero hours a week.
.
So what should he do in 4 hours a week during those 1-2 years so that movement progresses due to his 2 years of work, even when he as now stopped doing work?
.
This is what is called as "zero maintenance capital" . Capital means something which can generate income, But in all capital, some hours have to be added. eg you have a shop which can earn income. But you need to spend say 8 hours to 10 hours a day on that shop. Now you can rent that shop or flat and generate some lesser income,. But to find tenant and maintain, you need to give say 100 hours a year. So time you have to give is less, income is less but some income keeps coming
.
Now in RTR, say one is distributing 1000 pamphlets a week. And say he stops doing that. Then now whatever work he did will not generate new activists once he stopped doing it.
.
So is there any low maintenance CAPITAL in activism for RTR?
.
IMO, FBCPBA = Facebook Cover Page Activism is"Very Low Maintenance Capital".
.
Say an activist works say 4 hours a week on FB, and likes / shares / copy-pastes drafts on his wall. and puts the links in a group called as "Law Drafts I support". Say he has put links to some 20-100 drafts. And say his cover page says "please click the link to see law-drafts I support".
.
Now say he stopped working. Then also, the cover page will keep working !!! Because every person who visits the coverpage will get some idea about the law-drafts he has supported.
.
IOW, FBCPBA = Facebook Cover Picture Based Activism is low maintenance capital !! Whatever you do, it will keep giving some returns for a long tine, even after you stop giving hours to activism
