Is monarchy better than democracy?
.
I am pro-democracy, but there has been a strong under current in India and across world which says that monarchy is better than democracy !!! And IMO, all activists do need to address this topic.
.
The core argument given by those who support monarchy over democracy is that ---- an elected PM knows that he is for 5 years or 10 years and not any longer. And next PM need not be his son. And so he has no reason to sacrifice short term for long term. So elected PM will always take decisions that benefit him and his coterie in short run. Whereas a Monarch is for whole life and he wants his kingdom to become more prosperous so that his son and grandsons will get a better kingdom. And so monarchy is better.

Please google more on this topic.
.
So what your counter arguments? Or do you support Monarchy? Pls add a comment.
.
I will write my counter arguments in a 3-4 days

IMO, the labels like Monarchy and Democracy are useless and ONLY thing that counts is --- procedure code . eg If I say Monarchy is better, but citizens should elect new Monarch every 4 years and he should be recallable anytime, and Monarch can make laws, but must be approved by referendum or representatives' votes, and Monarch's judgment must be ratified by Jurors, then I am ONLY replacing label of PM by monarch !!!
.
IOW, monarchies we saw across world and time had too many many variations. In Egypt in 2000 BC to 100 AD, Monarchs aka Pharaoh were treated like Gods !!! They were absolute in every way. And compare that to Monarch of UK today, where court cases are first decided by Jurors and only then Lords appointed by King can change the verdict,. And MPs were once appointed by King, and today, MPs are elected by voters.
.
And likewise, democracy has too too much variation. We have "democracy" like India, where Judges are rule like oligarchs , IAS / IAS rule like mini-fuedal lords. And we have democracy like USA where almost all officers at State / District levels are recallable and many are elected, And in same USA, Federal Govt is evolving or degenerating into a closed oligarchy.
.
So IMO, activists should disregard labels like monarchy and democracy, and ask for PROCEDURE CODE. eg Those who support Monarchy will often say "Monarchy should be there, but Monarch should NOT be absolute and should rule by laws or Dharma etc". And when I ask "what if over 45 crore adult citizens out of 85 crore adult citizens of India think that King has become adharmik and want to replace him"? Then in most cases, pro-Monarchy people give no clear answer and no clear PROCEDURE CODE.
.
Talking about labels and ignoring procedure code is like telling a doctor "doctor saheb, I find white tablets boring. Can you give me colored tablets" !! A kid asking for colored candies is OK. But an adult patient asking for colored tablets is NOT ok.
.
So IMO, the whole debate between Monarchy vs Democracy should be replaced by "what procedure code you propose to appoint / replace men at apex level?". And then better answers will come.
