Why US is better suited to fight nuclear, missile, air-force war ---- lesser cities, fewer big dams

Cities reduces cost of living because they reduce transportation costs, and transportation time. And sparse living increases transporation time, transportation costs and thus lowers efficiency in a socirt. But if a nation has cities, then damage that can be done on that nation in a nuclear war or a conventional missile war increases. If the population is uniformly distributed across the nation, then the damage during nuclear war, missile war and figther plane war is least.

Likewise, large dams increase damage that can be done in in nuclear, missile and fighterplane wars. I have always big supporter of large dams. But after looking at war factor, I have changed my mind. We will have to settle for more expensive sources of power like solar, thermal , CNG etc. And in any case , we need a plan to rapidly empty the dams in case of war threat.

USA has been most war ready nation. It has huge amount of duplication in power grid, telephone land line grid , most sparse population, least number of dense cities, least number of dams and so forth.

We have a loooong way to walk to make India war ready.
