Skills develop by competition and actually building machines, not by importing machines, "technology transfer" and using them to make final goods. IOW, FDI does zero skill addition. The solution to add skill is to print law-drafts that reduce inefficiencies of factory owner, businessmen etc,. FDI and so called technology transfer will do zero skill addition.
.
Technological skills are picked by doing things in COMPETITIVE environment, nit by tutoring and reading documents. The employees and owners learn most when company is facing cut throat competition from some other company , and it is on the point of make the product work, and make the product better/cheaper or die. Thats the ONLY way to learn technology. There are NO shortcuts.
.
The actual experience of building things gives several intermediate failures and engineers learn how not to things. As I sometimes say --- there are 10 ways to write good code, and there are 100 ways not to write code !! And information of these 10 ways and 100 ways will come only when one is actually making a product for competitive environment. If a company comes with readymade code, and transfers the technology, then the employee learns only one way to code. He neither learns about alternatives , not learns anything about wrong ways to code. Such engineers can never compete against engineers who have actually written code in right as well as wrong ways. eg please google on "apple newton". The success of iphone comes from apple newton. Apple newton was a huge effort by Stever Jobs and Apple employees, and it was a collosal failure in market. It taught apple employees what are wrong ways, which appear as right ways, to make a device, 10s of such failures finally lead to iphones.
.
FDI with technology transfer or without tech transfer doesnt achieve that at all. In FDi, the foreign company comes with a technology which has already proven itself in West/Japan. Most of the complex machines like robots etc will come ready made. The local engineers will only use them to make final finished products. The technology transfer will only give details of how to use and not internals. And even if internals are explained, then the local engineers will learn only about one specific way to implement , and not learn about 10s of right ways and 100s of wrong ways. They will at best remain as satellites to their parent foreign companies.
.
The solution is print law-drafts that will reduce inefficiencies of Indian factory owners and Indian businessmen. NaMo is ethusiatic about First Develop India, but given any proposal to print law-draft to reduce inefficiencies of local manufacturers, the quick response is "150 days arent enough !!".
.
The law-drafts I propose are TCP, Jury System for all labor disputes, Jury System for all factory and trade, commercial disputes and Jury System for all disputes, RTR judges, RTR police chiefs, wealth tax minus income tax minus 30% salaries paid, removal of GST, removal VAT, removal of service tax, removal of local body taxes, removal of excise etc. .
.
The SoMoKe-vaadies are opposing these proposals because SoMoke is opposing these law-drafts. And NaMo opposes them under the banner of "150 days arent enough !!". And AK opposes them under the label "we dont have 273 MPs" !! The real reason why SoMoKe opposes Jury System, RTR, wealth tax and supports anti-small law-drafts like GST is because SoMoke heavily depends nefarious paidmedia and CoBhAp-sponsors most of whom are same as congress leaders. .
.
The non-80G-activists should ignore slogan shouting of SoMoKe-andhbhagats and thier pet reasons like "150 days arent enough" and "we dont have 273 MPs". We should inform crores of voters about law-drafts like JurySys, TCP, DDMRCAM, wealth tax etc using newspaper advt, and pamphlets. And we request voters to send orders to MPs , MLAs via SMS to print these law-drafts in gazette.
