How NaMo increased his vote share by forcing Govt employees to clean streets, gardens, toilet schemes, and how this damages honest central govt employees.

Some central govt and most bank employees are over-worked, while many central govt employees dont do much work. Some central govt get less than what private sector would offer for same work. But some get more salary. And some govt employees due to bribes make several times what private sector employees make. And all have LESS job/medical insecurity than most of us. .

Now on 2-oct-2014, NaMo forced Govt employees to clear streets etc, The employees felt harassed and most will complain. And the harassment and complain from govt employees makes an average voter feel good, because of jealously and hatred he has against govt employees !!!

So the voter's anger reduces. And in the process, most voter will forget that REAL problem was corruption , high perks and inefficiency. And thus NaMo got voter support without getting the real work done !!! So by harassing govt employee, NaMo increased his vote share.

This has zero effect on corrupt employee but a very adverse effect on honest govt employees. Let me explain.

Consider a non-corrupt and a sincere employee. He lost one holiday. He was forced to do something he was not required or signed up to do. Voters laughed at him saying "see you lazy bone, you corrupt, you deserved it". And all his life, he never took a penny of bribe. And yet he has to face ridicule.

Now consider a corrupt employee. He loses one holiday. He cleans streets. Voters laugh at him and say "see, you deserved it , you lazy , you corrupt etc etc" And next day that corrupt employee will collect twice the bribe and laugh his way to bank,

So all in all, such schemes of forcing govt employees to clean streets , toilets etc do immense damage to psyche of non-corrupt sincere hardworking overworked govt employees. And brings zero change in corrupt ones. But such drama sadly make some voters feel good and so it increases vote stare of NaMo. And that too without getting real work of reducing corruption and inefficiency.

NaMo could have rather focused on means to reduce corruption in those govt employees who are indeed corrupt, rather than making schemes that harass all govt employees, and give some kick to voters.

Should we tolerate NaMo's decision to force central govt employees to clean streets etc? IMO, NO.

As a citizen, I see govt employee as "my" employees. So while I do want corrupt judges, corrupt Ministers, corrupt MPs, corrupt govt employee to rot in hell, I do NOT want to harass honest sincere employees. So IMO, we all should order MP via SMS to order PM not to give such orders to Central Govt in future unless there is emergency
