Agitation of students o change UPSC exam format (1) English should go (2) paper in 10th class maths in Hindi\English with difficult questions, should be added (3) paper in logical tests should stay and language should be English/Hindi both, and language should simple.

But REAL question is --- why do so many students want to become IAS ?

In USA, for 100 positions in Govt , hardly 200-300 or at most 400 would apply. In India, for 100 positions, perhaps 10000 to 100,000 apply !! So why is there such a mad rush?

Lakhs of students every year give crores of hours every year preparing for UPSC exam. If they were to give even 1/10th of time in fixing nation without waiting for their becoming IAS, much of corruption in IAS would have vanished and the queue for IAS would have drastically reduced , improving their chances of getting into IAS !! But we any efforts in that direction.
.
So yes, exam format needs to be fixed. But far far more IMPORTANT issue is we need to address is -- reduce corruption in IAS.
