If the activists decide to be andh-bhagats, then desi or videshi elitemen using paid-media will always create a dozen heroes worth worshiping, and thus convince activists to continue with same system. And worse, if the control passes into the hands of videshi elitemen, then small improvements can happen with their technology and create an illusion of massive growth. eg Dubai has registered massive growth in its living standards !! Almost everyone has car and 3G phones, and has 1 Mbps net at home !!
The so called "leaders" are always dependent on elitemen for their continuity. They may take on one elitemen. They may change some simple laws. They the leaders cant NOT change laws which benefit all elitemen at the cost of nation. The elitemen will throw them away. The leaders will change such laws ONLY if activists are standing behind them with spears !!! In such case, the leader can convince the elitemen that changing this laws is MUST or else activists will NOT let any leader work. When elitemen see no option out but to change the laws, then only they will let such laws to come. The leaders will take the credit for changing the laws. But they will change the laws only when activists leave no option before them.
So activists MUST demand the law-drafts and take uncompromising stand with their leaders. and before that they MUST analyze the law-draft after reading all pages and all clauses. The leaders' word on law should NOT be taken at all. eg "Janlokpal with NO Right to Recall Janlokpal" as proposed by Anna and AK is thr WORST law one can think of. The activists got fooled because MNC-owners paid mediamen to create AK as hero, and activists took AK's word that "Janlokpal is a good law !!". Solution is that activists themselves should read the law-drafts before deciding their stand. And what if the law-drafts is complicated English, too difficult to understand? Wll, then it proves that draft writer is dishonest and he deliberately didnt take simple english !!!
All in all, fate of nation doesnt lie in the hands of leaders. It lies in the hands of activists.
