The Greece of 700 BC used to have Jury Trials with 1500 Jurors. So surely, today's India can also have a Jury Trial with 1500 Jurors. Now AK, Anna, BJP, Congress etc have all opposed Jury System and insist on trial by corrupt\nepotic judges.

Pls google on "Greece Jury 1500". Everything about Greece Jury System is there in Rajkant's class-VIII notes, which have been now uploaded on net, and is now known as wikipedia. The Athens had population of 60000 citizens. Back then, citizen was male above age of 30 years. Every athenian except slave was required to serve in Military and after 2 years of Miltary Duty he was eligible as well as required to do Military and Civilian Duty. Out of 60000 citizens, some 6000 were selected at random to form a body names as Helialia. Every case that came to athence court would be first head by officers elected by Helialia. The officers would only do routine procedures. Then 50 to 1500 citizens were chosen at random from this 6000 to decide on the case. The number of Jurors would increase with two things --- magnitude of the crime and wealth/power of the accuse. Long back, Jury size used to be more or less fixed -- 50 Jurors. But as it was feared that a wealthy/powerful person can force or bribe 50 Jurors, in around 800 BC the tradition of larger Jury started. The largest Jury was 1500. The Jurors would hear the case, also ask the questions , and finally give guilty or not guilty, and then also decide the punishment. Sometimes, the voting was confidential, particularly if accused was wealthy or powerful.

All these procedures created Greek nations a less unfair place. So industry grew, technology improved and Greek city states made so good weapons that they enslaved many areas around them. At central level, Greeks didnt invent system of collecting votes boothwise electing heads with fixed terms and giving them full power to create Military. So apex became monarchic, and but courts remained democratic. The combination created powerful weapons , so powerful that with 100000 soldiers, Alexender could come all the way till Yamuna.

So all in all, Jury Trial of 1500 Jurors was possible in Greece in 600 BC and it is surely possible today in India. People like AK, Anna, Congress, BJP etc have all opposed Jury Trials (se Janlokpal draft as well as Lokpal drafts, none use Jury System to decide corruption cases). USA uses Jury of fixed size --- 12 in all cases. In India, this system is more or less fine. But since there is a fear than small Jury can be bribed or forced, there should be provision for large Jury in serious cases involving wealthy and/or powerful ersons and/or where amount is too high.
