Wild Heart :
Kuwaiti customs officers caught a pigeon carrying 178 narcotic pills in a tiny pouch strapped to its body.
The homing pigeon was caught in May 2017 by customs officers at the Abdali border crossing, near Kuwait’s border with Iraq.
According to reports at the time, officers had been watching the pigeon before managing to catch it near the customs facility.
Attached to the bird was a small fabric pocket that looked almost like a miniature backpack.
Inside were 178 pills.
Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai reported that the pills were believed to be a form of ketamine, although that identification was not officially confirmed by Kuwait Customs.
Reports also said customs officials were already aware that pigeons could be used to transport drugs, but this was reportedly the first time they had caught one carrying them.
The method was simple: a homing pigeon, a small fabric pouch and nearly 180 pills.
This time, the unusual courier didn't make it past customs.
