One reason why anti reservation movement have happened less in past 20 years is - increase in number of self financed seats in Engineering, medicine
.
In year 1986 , about 4 crore people crossed age of 17 years. No of MBBS seats = 24000. About 1 in say 1600. Number of self financed = almost none. All were merit based
.
In year 2026 , about 2.2 crore people crossed age of 17 years. No of MBBS seats = 167000. About 1 in say 160 !!
.
And more than 50% are self financed
.
Same way , engineering seats increased by several times.

And as UP Bihar add more self financed medical engineering college , numbers will increase.

So upper class and middle class gets mbbs engineering admission by merit or money. So they dont spend time in anti reservation
.
And lower class sees a fact that bigger loss came because of self financed and less because of st sc obc reservation. So they also lose moral base to oppose caste based reservation.

Quality and future employability may become issue.
