oct-2010 = 15 lakh
oct-2015 = 20.50 lakh
feb-2021 =19.65 lakh
apr-2026 =19.69 lakh

2021 was lower because lakhs of labor had left ahmedabad due to lockdowns.

Lets compare 2026 with 2021 and 2015.

Ahmedabad adult population growth due to birth minus deaths will be at least 5 lakhs in 5 yeats and population growth due to incoming migration will be also a few lakhs.

And voting decreased by few lakhs due to heat

But still, 2026 is low
.
One explanation is give is - lakhs died due to lockdown forced walkathon 2020 and corona 2021 vaxine. And health of many lakhs weakened and so they left ahmedabad and went back to their villages.

Only way imo is to make death registry public. A proposal opposed by modi raga arke brc dbnk etc.
