Mahatma Thomas Paine wrote Agrarian Jutsice booklet in 1797. The main theme was - plots / mines should be rented and all rents should be divided equally amongst all citizens. I label this proposal as Thomaism, though as Mahatma Thomas himself had said that this thought is 1000s of years old. Till 1870, this thought remained main topic amongst poorists.

Thomasism would have caused serious damage to land and mineral oligopolists. Karl Marx relatives were almost all big time land bank mineral owners

Karl Marx in 1860s onwards said that focus should be put on nationalization of factories and factory equipments. This effectively removed focus away from distribution of land mineral profits.

The Thomasism got blacked out and 'nationalize factories' ie marxism got huge funding needed for promotion.
