#STAS - "separate tax account system" to solve a serious problem in GST

GST has a SERIOUS problem. GST law says that "buyer must pay GST to seller. and if seller doesnt deposit that GST amount collected to Govt, then Govt as per CGST act clause-16.2.c, will defacto collect that GST amount from buyer once again !! It applies when buyer is regular i.e. non-composite dealer. It doenst apply when buyer is composite or unregistered. Its called Missing Trader Problem or MTP, or "buyer shall bear the burden of the Missing Trader ".

STAS i.e. Separate Tax Account System is a proposed aw that can solve the problem.
