The BJP MPs, Congress MPs and CPM MPs in 1998 / 2004 took bribes, and passed product patent laws. Each MP got about Rs 12 crore of bribes back then. CPM MPs said that their image is good, and so they asked for more. MNC-owners gave them some 20% extra !!

Solution?

Long term solution is to have JurySys , RTR , wealth tax etc so that engineering / manufacturing improves and we are able to do original research in medicine. Research in medicine needs a lot of engineering , and research in medicine also needs a lot of surplus capital , which again comes from engineering.

A short term solution is to end process patent law and install process patent law
