Sympathy for Salman is because Doordarshan etc did NOT show victims and also did NOT highlight the fact that (a) Salman was drunk (b) Salman was driving at a speed of 90 kmhr in small streets (c) Salman was familiar with that area as knew that people sleep on streets (d) the effects on society if Salam is NOT imprisoned (e) repeatedly asking questions to Salman supporters ----- what would have been YOUR reaction if your family was run over by such drunk / reckless driver.

Punishment will always create some sympathy on the convict. And particularly if convict is wealthy to buy paidmediamen in paid-ToI , paid-IE etc.

The sympathy has to be countered by showing the victims and their family members. Thats where NaMo \ SoGa worked like identical twins ---- both ensured that Doordarshan DOES NOT show victims, their family members etc.

And sympathy has to be countered by showing the deliberate acts of convicts, such as drinking and driving, and excessive overspeeding, The area where Salman was driving are typical Mumbai narrow streets , and not some highways. And speed limit there is 40 kmhr, while Salman was driving at 90 kmhhr, or more. NaMo \ SoGa ensured that DD doesnt show all these facts. If all these facts had been shown on DD, then many fans of Salman would have walked away.

DD could have created a show where Salman fans are asked direct question "say tommorow Salman drives again at 90 kmhr and your son will get replaced by victim ; would you demand clemency for Salman?" OR "if God gives a deal that your son will get replaced by victim and Salman gets clemency , then would you accept the deal"?

The emotional outburst for Salman is restricted to less than 2% of Indian population. And that could have been reduced to below 0.02% by systematic coverage of recklessness of the action.

We all know that paidmediamen would never show all these things. Thats why we have Doordarshan , which is govt owned . But sadly, those in-charge of DD , namely SoGa \ NaMo etc too decided to side with Salman Khan. NaMo got some 3-8 extra seats due to Salman's fanclub in Hindus as well as Muslims. And NaMo said "Thank you" by ensuring that DD doesnt make newsshow covering all these points.

People like Salman are everywhere - IAS , IPS, judiciary, politics, elite everywhere, They believe that their fame, money, charity etc gives them licence to behave recklessly. And moral of the story is ---- such people control themselves ONLY due to small people like Ravindra Patil , NOT because of tall leaders like SoMoKe or judges or their lakhs of andhbhagats.
