Rahul Mehta Gandhinagar LsCandidate

A. Sunday Guardian says --- farmers in AP threw away 500 tonnes of tomatoes on road to protest against low price of Rs 10 per kg that they are offered !!! Sharad Pawar's favorite dish is onion sabji and Gadakir's favorite dish seems to be tomato soup.
.
B. Sonia-Sharad had engineered onion loot, and now NaMo-Gadakari engineer tomato loot of at least Rs 600 crore *(my estimate) in past 15 days !!
.
C Food subsidy drama at WTO
.
==================================
.
A. Its not that there is glut in supply. The interstate as well as inter-district trade if vegetables is under govt control. And using Govt control, the Ministers and traders are ensuring that tomatoes do NOT get purchased even if that means that farmers have to throw them away, and thus keep prices in cities sky high !!
.
Sunday Guardian reports that angry farmers threw away 500 tonnes of tomatoes on road. retail market value of that tomato at Rs 80 per kg will be Rs 80,000 per tonne i.e. Rs 4 crore. This is addition to huge amount getting wasted away and fed to cattle.
.
and what is shocking is that NO media such ToI of RSS's Panchjanya even reported this throwing away of tomatoes !! All must have got paid for blackout.
.
The wholesale buyers, with blessings of State\Central Ministers have have formed a cartel and are purchasing only a fraction of tomatoes grown and forcing farmers to throw away the rest. The undersupply takes the prices sky high in cities. Lets estimate how much money the cartel made in 15 days.
.
======================

B. Lets make an estimate of the Tomato loot
.
1. Farmers' selling price in AP = wholesaler's buying price in AP = Rs 10 per kg
.
2. Capacity of truck = 20000 kg.
.
3. Distance between AP hyderabad and Ahmedabad = 900 km = 3 days in truck at most.
.
4. Salary etc of 2 drivers and one cleaner = Rs 2000 each per day = Rs 12,000.
.
5. Fuel costs = Rs 10 per km = Rs 10,000
.
6. Other costs , depreciation of truck = Rs 10,000
.
7. So costs of bringing 20000 kg of tomatoes = Rs 32,000 kg less than Rs 2 per kg
.
8. Add wastages . so cost of bring tomato = Rs 10 per kg.
.
9. So cost to wholesaler in ahmedabad = Rs 20 per kg
.
10. Selling price in wholesale market in cities in past 15 days = Rs 50 per kg
.
11. So gross profit = Rs 30 per kg. Normal day profit will be Rs 10 per kg. So loot = Rs 20 per kg.
.
11. Now some 20 crore WELL OFF people live in urban India, where retail prices have been Rs 80/kg and whole prices have been Rs 50 /kg. In past 15 days, some persons will eat 50 grams per day, Some would eat 200 grams per day. Average will be say 100 grams per person i.e. 1.5 kg in past 15 days.
.
12. so total consumption = 20 crore * 1.5 kg / person = 30 crore kg
.
13. So loot = 30 crore kg * Rs 20 per kg = Rs 600 crore
.
Please note, that I am taking high numbers for costs. eg Transport by railways costs only Rs 10 per 100 kg !!! But I am assuming truck and also high salaries for drivers and cleaners.
.
Even then loot of past 15 days is coming to a low low Rs 600 crores !!
.
So this how much juice can come from tomatoes. Imagine how much bread, salad, juice will come from all grains, vegetables and fruits. And add loot of banking, land, govt contracts. No wonder why sponsors of Congress, BJP and AAP leaders pay 1000s of crores of rupees to paid media to get\cut all votes.
.
All in all, tomato price is the price we all are paying for april-2011 Anna's media coverage, aug-2011 anna's second fast, aug-2013 AK's fasts, oct-2013 AK's assembly coverage, RaGa's interviews by paid-arnab and 2 years NaMo's massive HHN-GGN coverage. Someone has to pay media for all this coverage. And that money has to come from FDI or tomatoes or both. All in all, the free entertainment of Janlokpal, Swaraj, HHN-GGN, ABMS etc is turning out to be more expensive than Multiplex tickets.
..
Solution I propose is --- please order YOUR MP via SMS to print TCP-draft in Gazzette. Once that draft comes, in Gazette, we citizens can print law-drafts to remove ALL trader restrictions on grains, vegetables and fruits except to regulate hoarding. Please send order "#TCP see section-1.3 of rahulmehta.com / 301.htm " to your MP.

C.The Food Subsidy drama at WTO
.
NaMO has accepted ALL WTO conditions such as FDI in everything except two -- (1) FDI in retail and (2) Food subsidies . In fact NaMo also accepted MNC-owners' demands such as FDI in railways and FDI in Railways and Defence, which arent included in WTO. Now food subsidy opposition is just a drama. In fact, NaMo also accepted Mauritius route !!
.
Following is the core pattern in drama
.
1. Both NaMo and MNC-onwners need to show that NaMo is is not under MNC-owners
.
2. So MNC-owners will put 100 conditions. NaMo will accept 98 and then say NO on 2 conditions - FDI in retail and food.
.
3. The paidmedia is paid to give huge coverage to these two NO and also paid to cover the fact that NaMo has accepted FDI in everything , FDI in railways, FDI in defence, Mauritius route etc etc
.
4. So NaMo emerges as someone who is saying NO to MNC-owners !!
.
The fact that NaMo accepted FDI in banking, FDI in Railways, and even Mauritius route proves that NaMo is nothing but MMS-2 , ABV-2 when it comes to relations with MNC-owners. All this saying NO on food business is a third rate drama ONLY.
.
It is time we ask all to focus on damage Congress\NaMo has created by FDI in Railways, FDI in banking , FDI in everything and ask all to ignore paidmedia coverage of Food Subsidy issue.
.
And please note that AK has NO opposed FDI or even Mauritius route. In fact, all 4 MPs of AAP have refused to give a PMB = private members' bill in Loksabha to end Mauritius route , and given excuses like "PMB always fail" !! etc etc So we should see that as far as WTO goes, So = Mo = Ke.
.
Now again, if you wish to end FDI and resulting dollar crunch that may force us to sell all minerals in future, then please send order to your MP via SMS "#TCP see section-1.3 of rahulmehta.com / 301.htm". And once TCP comes, we can get necessary drafts printed in Gazette that will reduce FDI domination in India.
