(1) AK opposes the proposal to let slum dwellers select tanker providers via SMS or person visit to Patwari office !! Reason AK cited was "we need to focus ONLY on middle class votes" !! (2) Meanwhile, Congress workers in ahmedabad, tell slum dwellers that AAP is middle-class party by citing "free water to middle class and nothing for slums" law of Delhi !!
Following is the proposal one RTR-activists in Delhi took to AK
1. Allow a Delhi voter, whose house doesnt have connection, to register his cell number at local Patwari office or Civic center. It can be one per family.
2. Issue numbers of each tanker provider (they already have it)
3. The slum dweller can specify/change the tanker provider any day via SMS or personally visiting Patwari office
4. Delhi Jal Board will give say 200 liter per day per family who has allocated the water quota for free
5. The slum dwellers can pay the carrier charges to tanker owner , say 25 paise per bucket or whatever.
The fact that citizens can change tanker owner via SMS will ensure that tanker owners will provide optimal service.
AK tore apart the paper on which the proposal was written into some 20 pieces !! Not only he called it "fairy tale", but he asked all his volunteers to dismiss this proposal as "fairy tale" !! AK made useless excuses like "garib aadami mobile kahan se layega" (where will poor get mobile from?) , despite the fact proposed procedure allows person to change tanker provider via personal visit to Patwari office. And he made all excuses like "what if person's mobile gets stolen and some tanker mafia sends SMS ete etc !!" Some 2000 slum dwellers sent SMS #AllowSlumDwellerToChooseTankerProvider at AAP's voting number 0-88061-10335 ; AK refused to disclose the SMS count for that tag !!! When an AAP MLA supported this proposal, AK replied "now we have to focus on nationwide middle class voters ONLY ; hell with slum voters !!! "
Anyway, AK is not interested in this proposal. Now if YOU are interested in this proposal, then I request you all to ask Delhi voters to send #AllowSlumDwellerToChooseTankerProvider at AAP's voting number 0-88061-10335 ;

The Congress workers in slum areas have started RIGHT propaganda that "AK has given free 20000 liters of water per month to families living in flats, but zero free water to slum dwellers". In fact, water prices for slum dwellers have increased by 10% because private tankers now charge 10% more , as commercial water meters cost 10% more starting 1-jan-2014. So all in all, AAP wont get any slum votes in Gujarat or rest of India for that matter, and will be mainly cutting middle class votes only.
