Our shashtra consider "anuman" as praman , over and above pratyaksh praman. pls google on "anuman praman" and "pratyaksh praman" for more. This is also said as -- if all logical possibilities imply something, then that something must be true, unless proven otherwise.
To punish someone, anuman IMO isnt good, and one may need pratyaksh praman.
But to decide if someone should be supported or opposed in politics, anuman can and must be used, as powerful persons can do crimes without leaving any paper trail.
One example of anuman praman, and absence pratyaksha praman is as follows
1. I often say that BJP-leaders such as ABV, LKA, Arun Jetley, Arun Shourie, Pramod etc allowed Bangladeshies to enter into India because they were getting bribes from Saudi Arabia. Many ask for proof. Well, the money is transferred via Mauritius banks and do you expect to get a stamped statement from Mauritius banks with their names and photo. Well, I can print them myself if you want. But then, how will you verify whether they are false or right? Would you yourself go to Mauritius banks yourself? And will Mauritius banks reply to you? IOW, the BJP leaders are high placed enough that they can get money from Saudi Arabia without any paper train in India. So anuman prman is the ONLY praman you will get against them. Is it logical? Well, it is fact that Bangladeshies did come en-masse in 1998-2004. Did BJP bring them for votes? Bangladeshies always vote for Congress and never BJP. Then why did BJP leaders allowed them to enter India, unless these BJP leaders were being otherwise paid? And if payment was coming, who was paying them? Bangladeshies dont have kind of money that would buy BJP leaders. In whole Islamic world, Saudies are the only ones with loads of money. So logical conclusion is that Saudi Arabia was paying BJP leaders to let Bangladeshies enter into India between 1998-2004. This is one application of anuman praman.
2. Another application of anuman paraman is "Arvind Ghandy's is supporting Bangladeshies in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore etc. to get coverage from Saud-funded channels like NDTV". Lets see how far anuman praman goes. First, it is public fact that Arvind Ghandy is supporting Bangladeshies. Can it be for votes? Well, Bangladeshies will vote for Congress only and only in rare cases, where Congress has no hope for winning, Bangladeshies might vote for AAP. But that too will happen only after Congress approves. (eg say if AAP is getting all say 50% of the BJP's middle class votes, then Congress may ask Bangladeshi to vote for AAP). But by supporting Bangladeshies , AAP is losing lakhs of Hindu votes as well. Does AAP-apex take money from Saudi Arabia like Congress\BJP? NO. But AAP needs support from channels like NDTV. NDTV has been loss maker year after year after year, ever since it was born !! This year, it lost Rs 25 crore !! Where does it get money to run itself? The news content will tell you whom they want to please. Now apply all inference and it comes out that only logical reason why "Arvind Ghandy's is supporting Bangladeshies in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore etc." is "to get coverage from Saud-funded channels like NDTV"

Is it a crime to decide based on anuman only?
NO. NOT AT ALL. It is a crime to dispense punishment based on anuman only and no pratyaksh param. But in politics, it is your free will. You can always use your free will where your anuman guides you.
And yes, an andh-bhagat will deny and refuse all anuman ; and never ever waste your time about gathering pratrayksh praman for such andh-bhagats, hoping that they will open their eyes. They will just look aside when you give pratyaksh praman.
eg1. I gave pratyaksh paraman to BJP's adh-bhagats that LKA, ABV, Arun Shourie, Arun Jetley etc had raised juvenile age from 16 yrs to 18 yrs, an act that raised all criminal activities , including crimes against women, and also increased love-jihad. They googled and verified that it was ABV who raised the age in year 2001. Result? The BJP andh-bhagats just looked aside !!
eg2. I gave pratyaksh paraman to Arvind Ghandy's andh-bhagats, that see, the Janlokpal draft does NOT have Right to Recall Janlokpal clauses, which makes it easy for MNC-owners to control Janlokpals. And that Arvind Ghandy has NOT given RTR-MP-draft he promised in apr-2011. Result? The andh-bhagats just looked aside !!
So pls never waste time in gathering pratyakhs paraman for andh-bhagats.

Anuman alone with no pratyaksh paraman can be shaky and misleading . But if you have 100 anuman praman and 5 praksh paraman all in SAME directions, then all anumans should be assumed as true. eg I give 4 pratyaksh paraman against Arvind Ghandy
1. He opposed RTR-Janlokpal clauses in Janlokpal draft, which would have reduced MNC-domination
2. He supports Bangladeshies, something that will fetch him lakhs of Hindu votes
3. He opposes death penalty for 6th criminal in delhi dec-16 case, despite the fact the was MAIN person responsible for death of victim, an act that can bring him lakhs of women votes
4. He opposed the proposal to make land-ownership records of EVERYONE in India public, a step which will reduce corruption , black money and get him lakhs of middle class votes
These 4 pratyaksh praman show that he is agent of individuals who own huge amount of lands, and also want more Bangladeshies in India, want more crimes in India and want MNC-domination to rise. Now all 100 anuman praman which go in this direction should be assumed as true.
